Meet us in Montana

Aly and Matt were both attending Arizona State University and ventured down to Cabo San Lucas for their senior year spring break. On their way to the infamous Squid Roe one night, a mutual friend introduced them. Once Aly and Matt were back in Tempe, they kept crossing paths, wondering how they had never met before senior year. After a few Vegas trips and Sushi 101 dinners, they started dating. After graduation, Aly was set to go back home to California while Matt would stay in his home state of Arizona. Soon after living in different states they knew one of them would have to make the plunge to leave their home state to move closer to one another. A few months later, Matt hit the road to Los Angeles and the rest is history...

During the middle of the pandemic, most people were sheltering at home. Aly and Matt immediately thought of ways to escape the lockdown, and planned a vacation to Tulum, Mexico for their 6th anniversary. What better way to celebrate than with tacos and margaritas on a beach? Matt told Aly he had scheduled a surprise photography session the morning of Thanksgiving so they could always remember their trip to Tulum. The photographer took them around the resort grounds, finally leading them through a tunnel to the beach. When they got to the end of the tunnel, the sun was shining in their eyes. The photographer suggested they close their eyes and open them "on three" to take the perfect portrait. As Aly opened her eyes, Matt was down on one knee asking her to marry him. She said yes!!
